Vindicia, the leader in enterprise-class subscription billing, announced that Comic-Con HQ has chosen Vindicia CashBox® to power the subscription payments and billing for Comic-Con HQ’s new video-on-demand platform. The service aims to provide fans with seamless access to the Comic-Con experience 365 days a year.

Lionsgate and Comic-Con International created Comic-Con HQ to provide a year-round destination for fans to experience their world-famous events and enjoy highly curated content including exclusive original series, daily entertainment news, and an ever-evolving library of Film & TV genre titles, sneak previews and special features from the latest and greatest franchises across comics and the popular arts.

Vindicia’s CashBox is a software-as-a-service (SaaS) solution ideal for companies wanting to develop their direct to consumer business. Through subscription billing and microtransactions, companies can take advantage of digital payment practices, making it easier for consumers to pay for services with cash from their e-wallets or from other means such as PayPal or store-bought gift cards. The platform is also scalable and adapts to cope with spikes in demand.

“Leading providers of streaming video understand that in order to win and retain customers, the billing platform has to be secure, fast and reliable,” said Gene Hoffman, CEO of Vindicia. “For Comic-Con HQ, the net result of an effective subscription billing process is more paying customers and minimal churn – and that’s exactly what Vindicia will provide.”

Comic-Con HQ is set to launch a public Beta on May 7, 2016 to coincide with Free Comic Book Day. Anyone signing up for the public Beta at will enjoy free access through San Diego Comic-Con this July. The product will initially launch in the US via browsers and iOS/Android devices. The paid subscription service will then roll out across more connected devices such as Roku, Apple TV, PS4 and the Microsoft family of devices and consoles, with additional distribution platforms becoming available throughout the year.
